Facebook Ads for Traffic Arbitration: My Exact Campaign Setup

Arbaz (Dr. AdSense) May 23, 2026 9 min read

Why Facebook for Arbitration?

Facebook offers some of the lowest CPC (cost per click) for content traffic when set up correctly. My average CPC from Facebook for arbitration campaigns is $0.003–$0.012 (PKR 0.8–3.3). Compare this to the RPM I earn from AdSense/ADX ($4–20), and the math works strongly in my favor.

The Campaign Structure I Use

I use a simple 3-level campaign structure:
1. **Campaign Level**: Objective = Traffic, Daily Budget = $5–10 to start 2. **Ad Set Level**: 3–5 ad sets with different audiences 3. **Ad Level**: 2–3 variations per ad set (different headlines/images)
This structure lets Facebook's algorithm find the best audience within your targeting parameters.

Audience Targeting Setup

**My typical targeting for tier-2/tier-3 country arbitration:**
- **Locations**: USA, UK, Canada, Australia (highest paying AdSense clicks) - **Age**: 25–55 (most engaged content readers) - **Interests**: Broad interest matching your content niche - **Placements**: Facebook Feed only (NOT Instagram or Audience Network)
**Pro tip**: Test broad targeting vs. interest-based. Often broad targeting with good content converts better because Facebook's algorithm is very powerful.

The Ad Creative That Works Best

For arbitration traffic, I use 'curiosity gap' style ads:
- **Headline**: Ask a question or create intrigue ("This Is Why Your Monthly Income Never Grows") - **Image**: Bright, contrasting colors with a person or relatable situation - **Primary Text**: 1–2 sentences expanding the curiosity gap - **Call to Action**: "Learn More" (not "Shop Now" or "Sign Up")
The goal is to get a click from someone genuinely curious about your article — they will read the full article and generate more ad impressions and clicks.

My Bidding Strategy

I always start campaigns with **automatic bidding (Lowest Cost)**. Let Facebook optimize for 3–7 days before making any changes. After that:
- If CPC is above $0.05, test new audiences or creatives - If CPC is below $0.02 and traffic quality is good, scale the budget - If CTR is below 1%, the creative needs improvement - If CTR is above 3%, you have a winner — scale aggressively

Calculating Your Break-Even Point

Before scaling, know your numbers:
**Break-Even Formula:** Facebook CPC × (RPM / 1000) = 1.0 means you break even
Example: - Facebook CPC = $0.01 - AdSense RPM = $10 - 1,000 visitors from Facebook costs $10 - 1,000 visitors generate $10 in AdSense revenue - You break even exactly
You need your AdSense RPM to be at least 1.5x–2x your traffic cost to profit consistently.

Common Facebook Ads Mistakes in Arbitration

1. **Sending traffic directly to homepage** — Always send to a specific article 2. **Using clickbait that disappoints readers** — High bounce rate kills your AdSense quality score 3. **Running ads 24/7 without dayparting** — Late night and early morning often have worse quality 4. **Not testing enough creatives** — Test minimum 3 different image/headline combinations 5. **Scaling too fast** — Never more than double your budget in one day

My Results From Facebook Arbitration

One of my campaigns in the health niche:
- **Ad spend**: $800/month - **Traffic**: 120,000 visitors/month - **AdSense/ADX Revenue**: $2,400/month - **Net Profit**: $1,600/month (200% ROI)
This runs on semi-autopilot. I spend about 1 hour per week monitoring and adjusting.
